If you have a problem with high blood pressure or high cholesterol, you certainly aren't alone. Millions of people are diagnosed with these disorders every year.
Allopathic (traditional) medicine is of course a valid, respected, and necessary part of health care. Of that there is no question. Sometimes, however, allopathy has a "put a bandaid on it" mindset that does not cure a problem but merely covers it up. Allopathic medicine tends to treat high blood pressure and high cholesterol with pills, most of which have horrendous side effects. HCTZ (hydrochlorothiazide) is a diuretic often taken for hypertension, or high blood pressure. HCTZ raises homocysteine levels 16%, and homocysteine causes high blood pressure. Calcium channel blockers (Calan and Norvasc are examples) cause shrinking of the brain within 5 years. And statins, the medications most commonly prescribed for high cholesterol numbers, cause all sorts of misery. Naturopathy prefers to get to the cause of the problem and eraticate it. Eating butter and eggs is NOT the cause of high cholesterol. Using a good quality sea salt is NOT the cause of high blood pressure. I recommend two great books written by the medical doctor Sherry Rogers, "The High Blood Pressure Hoax" and "The Cholesterol Hoax."
Many times people who exhibit high blood pressure are simply in need of more magnesium. But just having your magnesium level checked is not enough. Less than 1% of magnesium in the body is in the serum, and serum levels are what traditional blood tests test. A serum magnesium could read totally within normal limits even though your magnesium level is so low you're pushing your luck where a heart attack is concerned. For accuracy, you need an RBC (red blood cell) level, not a serum or plasma level.
To get a baseline on your health, or lack thereof, give Lynn a call. She will sit down and talk about your diet and lifestyle, do some microscopy (looking at blood cells under a microscope while you see them on a TV screen), perhaps a bioterrain audit, and see what you can do to optimize your health. We promise to work with you to develop a health care plan this is do-able and affordable.
You might also want to check out Dr. Lynn's ebook, "Attaining and Keeping Great Health...Cheaply and Easily!" An excerpt from the ebook:
"Ideally you should have one bowel movement for each meal (not snack) that is eaten. For most people that would be three bowel movements per day. Many individuals don‟t know what their bowel movements look like; learn to become a "stool gazer," as your bowel movements speak volumes about your health. Each bowel movement should be dark brown, sink, and break up easily when you flush. You should not see any undigested food in it (corn is a common culprit) as this means you are not chewing your food enough. If they're light brown and/or float chances are you aren‟t making or dropping sufficient quantities of bile into your digestive system."
